When to send
Two or three days before the due date, in the evening after the last batch. Music classes often meet only twice a week, so a reminder sent right after a class keeps the fee fresh in the parent's mind before the next one.
Tips
- If you charge per number of classes, say how many classes the fee covers so parents don't argue about missed sessions.
- Mention the instrument or batch when one family has two children learning different things.
- Keep the tone light. Parents see music as a hobby, so a heavy reminder feels out of place.
Mistakes to avoid
- Asking the child for the fee in front of other students during class.
- Sending the reminder in the middle of a practice session when you should be teaching.

Questions
How many days before should I remind parents about music class fees?
Two to three days before the due date is enough. Earlier reminders get forgotten; later ones feel rushed.
Should I charge for missed music classes?
Decide one rule and write it in your welcome message. Many teachers offer a make-up class instead of a refund.
